In these difficult times, stress can be felt not only in our wallets, but seen on our faces as well. We still want to look our best, but the last thing we want is to be spending our hard earned money on overpriced beauty products that are full of mystery ingredients we can’t even pronounce.

How do you keep your skin in good shape without breaking the bank? These budget-friendly, natural treatments and masks can be prepared in your own kitchen… and they really work!


  • 1-tablespoon sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Mix ingredients together and apply to clean face using your fingers in a circular motion. Leave on for 5 minutes and then wash off with room temperature water. Follow with your daily regimen or with one of the following masks for your skin type.


  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon honey

Warm up olive oil and honey. Then add the egg yolk and mix together. Apply to clean face after the scrub. Keep the mask on for 10-15 minutes then wash off and follow with your daily creams.


  • 1-tablespoon soft yeast
  • ½ tablespoon warm milk (or as much as needed for a creamy consistency)

Mix ingredients together and apply to clean skin. Keep the mask on for 5-8 minutes and then wash off.


  • 1-tablespoon soft yeast
  • 3-4 drops hydrogen peroxide
  • 3 drops lemon juice

Combine ingredients to form a creamy mixture. Apply to problem areas or all over the face. Keep the mask on for 5-8 minutes and then wash off.
