Transgender Facials New

What does Transgender Facial mean?

Gender Reassignment Therapy is a complicated medical process.   Female hormones are introduced, as well as anti-androgens, affecting the pituitary gland, the adrenal glands and gonads.  Basically, estrogen hormones are introduced into the body, while the effects of other hormones, such as androgens, are blocked.   All these internal hormonal changes are reflected on the outside, by the skin.  We are sensitive to the effect of how these hormonal changes manifest in the quality and texture of the skin.

Our dermatological nurses along with our renowned electrologist, California State Board Examiner, Robin Harris, work together with you to manage your hair and skincare needs throughout the transitioning process.

The facial begins with a medical history and consultation.  We cleanse the skin and apply an enzyme or scrub to exfoliate the top layers of dead skin cells. We gently perform any extractions on clogged pores and /or ingrown hairs caused by folliculitis barbae.  Afterwards, we discuss the next procedure that will optimize the end result; whether it be micro-dermabrasion, chemical peel, or hydrating massage. Whatever the next step entails, it is followed by a mask, moisturizer and sunscreen.
